Changing the map type

Map types, or basemaps, change the way you want the overall map to appear and may consist of one or many layers. With OnSite Solution, you can change the map type to help you create an optimal user experience.

By default, the map type displays Streets.

Steps:
  1. Click Map Types.

    A drop-down menu expands and displays a list of available map types.

  2. Select a map type from one of the following:

    Option

    Description

    Streets

    A street map that shows roads and streets.

    Satellite

    A satellite map that shows high-resolution imagery.

    Hybrid

    A hybrid map that shows both streets and high-resolution satellite imagery.

    Community Topo

    A map services where cities participate by contributing data.

    USGS Topo

    A topographic map, provided by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), that represents the vertical and horizontal positions of features, showing relief in some measurable form. The USGS Topo is 10+ year old scan of the USGS map.

    Shaded Relief

    A shaded relief map that shows changes in elevation using light and shadows on terrain from a given angle and altitude of the sun.

    The map updates to display the selected map type.
