Creating derived images using the Derive Images Tool
Creation of derived images can be automated using the Derive Images tool; an graphical user interface application installed with the ArcGIS Image Server Developer Kit. This tool is available in the <Home>ArcGIS\ImageServer10.0\Developer Kit\Automation\DeriveImages folder. The Derive Images tool speeds up the process of generating derived images by making use of ArcGIS Image Server's multi-threaded processing capabilities to process multiple images in parallel.
The process of creating derived images using the Derive Images tool can be divided into three separate steps:
• | Create the derived images definition file |
• | Create the derived images definition file and generate the derived images from the compiled image service definition |
• | Create the derived images definition file and generate the derived images from the published image service. |
For more information on how to create derived images using this tool, refer to the user manual of the Derive Images tool installed in <Home>ArcGIS\ImageServer10.0\Developer Kit\Automation\DeriveImages folder.
