Overview of GPS Position Window

The GPS Position Status Bar and Position dialog are used to display information about the GPS satellites and the GPS position, as well as navigational information. Most of the information displayed in the GPS Position Window is calculated by the GPS receiver and output to ArcPad via the selected GPS protocol. Although many GPS receivers also display this information on the receiver’s screen, it is useful and convenient to use the ArcPad GPS Position Window. Using ArcPad reduces the need to view information on two different devices. In addition, the GPS Position Window provides a means of displaying key information if the GPS receiver has no display screen.
