Configure Project for Geoprocessing

By choosing to run the 'Configure Project for Geoprocessing tool', you will be creating a configuration file for use with the ArcPad geoprocessing tool ‘Process ArcPad Project’. It allows you to automate the checking out process or include it in a model.

Welcome

When you select 'Configure Project for Geoprocessing tool' , the 'Welcome screen' appears, and explains what the wizard will guide you through. There is an option to not show this welcome page again.

Select Data

Click 'Next' to proceed to the Select Data page.

The process in this section is similar to 'Get Data for ArcPad'. Follow the same procedure as described in Get Data for ArcPad section.

Some data types are not supported by the ArcPad Data Manager. Please refer to Preparing your data for ArcPad for more information

Select Picture Options

Click 'Next to proceed to the Select Picture Options page.

The process in this section is similar to 'Get Data for ArcPad'. Follow the same procedure as described in Get Data for ArcPad section.

Select Deployment Options

Click 'Next to proceed to the Select Deployment Options page.

The only difference when you run this tool (from Get Data for ArcPad) is on the 'Select Deployment Options' page. In this wizard, you do not have the option to create data locally on the computer. This wizard is designed to be a preperation tool, and the procesing will occur later, via the toolbox tool 'Process ArcPad Project'.

If you are using a model to prepare data for a Windows Mobile device, then you should check “create ready to deploy .CAB file” option. Otherwise, you may check the 'create .ZIP file containing the ArcPad data' option.

Note:

The completion of this wizard creates an APO file, but no data.

Finish

When you hit finish the following dialog displays.

All the options which you have selected using this tool are now saved and can be used later on.
