Information

The Information tab is used to specify simple metadata for a shapefile, ArcPad AXF file, image, ArcIMS, graphics, or photo layer. Any changes made on this tab are saved with the current map (.apm) or in the layer definition file (.apl) if the Save button is used.

Name

Type an alias for the shapefile, ArcPad AXF, image, ArcIMS, graphics, or photo layer. The alias is displayed on the Table of Contents dialog box.

The default is the file name of the shapefile, image, ArcIMS, graphics, or photo layer. For ArcPad AXF layers, the default is the feature layer name.

Comments

Type any descriptive information about the layer. The default is blank.
