What is the ArcPad Extension for ArcGIS Server?

The ArcGIS Server ArcPad Extension allows you to author and publish ArcPad projects to ArcGIS Server and synchronize data between ArcPad to ArcGIS Server via any internet connection.

In order to make use of the synchronization functionality, you need:

• Desktop environment to Author your data
• Desktop and Server environment to Publish your data
• Mobile environment to Use your data.

On desktop you require ArcGIS Desktop (ArcView, ArcEditor or ArcInfo) 9.3 or above and ArcPad 8 or above. On the Server you require ArcGIS Server Enterprise Advanced Edition 9.3 (.NET) or above and ArcGIS Server ArcPad Extension 8 or above, and on the mobile device you require ArcPad 8 or above.

Note:

The ArcGIS Server ArcPad Extension was first released with ArcPad 8. If you are using ArcGIS Server 9.3, you will require the ArcGIS Server ArcPad 8 Extension. If you are using ArcGIS Server 10, you will require the ArcGIS Server ArcPad 10 Extension. Both ArcPad 8 and ArcPad 10, can synchronize with either ArcGIS Server ArcPad Extension release.
