The following summarizes changes to ArcIMS 10.
See also What's new in previous versions of ArcIMS, for a history of what's new in ArcIMS in earlier versions.
- ArcMap Server was removed and is no longer supported. If you had ArcMap Image Services running in previous versions and they are included in the SEZ file, the SEZ file will continue to work with no modifications necessary. However, once you save the SEZ file in version 10, any ArcMap Image Services previously in the file will be removed. It is recommended that you make a backup of your SEZ file if you plan to reuse it in older versions of ArcIMS.
- The software no longer ships for the following platforms: HP-UX and IBM AIX.
- ArcIMS is no longer supported on Windows 2000.
- ArcIMS 10 ships with J2SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 16.
- For a list of supported platforms, servlet engines, and Web servers, see the ArcIMS System Requirements.
- The ArcIMS .NET ADF setup has been replaced with ArcGIS Server - Web Applications. This is available for both ArcIMS and ArcGIS Server.
- No changes were made to the ArcXML Users Guide.
