Configuring Sun Java System for ArcExplorer Java Edition
The following instructions are for Sun Java System only.
If you use Sun Java System, you need to make a change in the configuration of the MIME type property. The MIME type file tells the Web server what to do when an incoming request is looking for a particular file extension.
- Start Sun Java System Administration Server from the Start menu or from your Web browser.
- Type your user name and password and click OK.
- Select your Server from the drop-down list and click Manage.
- In the left sidebar, click Mime Types.
- Select the Edit option and click OK. Click OK again.
- On the Global Mime Types list, find Content-Type: application/octet-stream File Suffix: bin
- Click Edit and add ,exe to the File Suffix.
- Click Change MIME Type and click OK to update the record.
- Scroll down and find Content-Type: magnus-internal/cgi File Suffix: cgi,exe,bat
- Click Edit and Remove exe, from the File Suffix.
- Click Change MIME Type and click OK to update the record.
- Click Apply in the upper right corner.
- Select Apply changes to stop and start the Web server.
- Exit Sun Java System.
