Step 3b: Postinstallation overview
You must complete the ArcIMS postinstallation setup to successfully configure your ArcIMS installation for use. To see what ArcIMS property files were edited during the postinstallation setup, see the <ArcIMS Installation Directory>\ArcIMS\Tools\properties.log file.

Before running the postinstallation setup, make sure your Windows Services Manager is closed.
Complete the postinstallation during the initial installation, or run the postinstallation setup at a later time from Start > Programs > ArcGIS > ArcIMS > ArcIMS Post Installation.
If using a Backup Domain Controller machine, the user running the postinstallation setup must be granted Log on as service rights prior to running the postinstallation setup.
Choose a Typical or a Custom postinstallation setup.

A Typical postinstallation setup will guide you through the basic configurations for the features you installed. A Typical postinstallation setup will automatically choose the necessary postinstallation options required for your installation.
Select a Custom installation to choose from any of the available postinstallation setup options.

The available postinstallation setup options depend on what features were installed. Some postinstallation setup options may be unavailable.
ArcIMS offers the following postinstallation setup options:
ArcIMS Authorization Configuration
ArcSDE Services Monitor configuration
Web server servlet engine configuration
