Existing ArcIMS users
Before installing ArcIMS 10, users should perform the following, depending on the version of ArcIMS installed.
ArcIMS 9.1 users should perform the following:
- You cannot have ArcIMS 9.1 and ArcIMS 10 installed on the same computer. Uninstall ArcIMS 9.1 before installing ArcIMS 10. See your ArcIMS 9.1 installation guide for more information on uninstalling ArcIMS 9.1.
- Your .sez files will not be removed during uninstallation; they will remain under <ArcIMS Installation Directory>\ArcIMS\appserver. If you plan on using the .sez files again, leave them in this location or move them to your new <ArcIMS installation Directory>\ArcIMS\appserver. If you don't want to use these files, back them up or delete them before running the ArcIMS post installation setup.
- Back up files that have been customized but not renamed (for example, in your C:\ArcIMS\Website directory).
- All other files that were not removed during uninstallation of ArcIMS 9.1 will be updated by the ArcIMS 10 installation (for example, jar files, registry entries).
- See Supported software environments for Web servers and servlet engines supported for ArcIMS 10.

- You cannot have ArcIMS 9.2 and ArcIMS 10 installed on the same computer. Uninstall ArcIMS 9.2 before installing ArcIMS 10. See your ArcIMS 9.2 installation guide for more information on uninstalling ArcIMS 9.2.
