Additional Windows Server 2008 requirements

The ArcGIS Server for the Microsoft .NET Framework installation process on the Windows Server 2008 operating system requires specific components of Internet Information Services (IIS) to be installed.  If these components are not installed, the Web Applications feature will not be available.  The Web Server (IIS) components detailed below satisfy the minimum requirements for the Web Applications feature.  The Web Applications feature includes ArcGIS Server Manager.

Note

The IIS components listed below are only minimum requirements.  If other IIS components are installed, they do not need to be removed.

Steps to add Web Server (IIS) components on Windows Server 2008

1) Click Start -> Administrative Tools -> Server Manager -> Roles.

2) Click Add Role Services.

3) At the Select Role Services dialog, verify the Web Server (IIS) components listed below are turned on.

Tip

A filled box means only that part of the feature is turned on. A checkmark indicates the feature is completely installed.

The following Web Server (IIS) components must be installed when performing an installation on Windows Server 2008.  If these components are not installed, the Web Applications feature will not be available.
