Localization and ArcGIS Server on Amazon EC2
The ArcGIS Server Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) were built on top of Amazon's AMI for Windows Server 2008 R2, with the operating system language set to English. (AMIs prior to ArcGIS Server 10.0 Service Pack 3 used Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2.)
You can optionally change the language of the operating system and install additional language packs to localize ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Desktop.
Operating system languages provided with the AMI
The ArcGIS Server AMIs have several operating system language packs preinstalled by Amazon. The preinstalled language packs are English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Korean, Japanese.
Installing additional operating system languages
If the operating system language you want to use is not included on the AMI, you can download and install the language pack from Microsoft.
