Retrieving your Bing Maps key in Manager

If you're connecting to Bing Maps programmatically, or if you're using the Web ADF controls to access Bing Maps, you need to provide a Bing Maps key. Your ArcGIS Server authorization file contains information about your Bing Maps key, and you can retrieve the key directly in Manager by performing the following steps:

  1. Log in to Manager.
  2. On the left panel, click Home > Settings.
  3. Find the Bing Maps Key: section of the panel and click View Bing Maps Key. Your Bing Maps key displays.
NoteNote:

You don't need to provide your Bing Maps key when adding layers to a Web application in Manager, because Manager contains a built-in connection to Bing Maps. If you ever need to re-make the connection, you need to supply the Bing Maps key.

The Bing Maps key information is retrieved from your ArcGIS Server authorization file. If you receive a message that your key is not found or corrupt, please contact Esri Customer Service to ensure that your authorization file is valid and includes access to Bing Maps.

If you see a message about an unknown error occurring, try logging out of Manager and repeating the above steps to attempt to retrieve the key again. If the problem persists, please contact Esri Support.
