View Work List task

Field projects often involve validating and inspecting or updating existing information previously captured during the course of previous fieldwork using a field GIS or survey system or entered into a desktop GIS or CAD system from hand-drawn maps.

For example, you may need to validate the proper installation of facilities developed for a new city subdivision that were entered into your GIS system by a drawing technician. Another example might involve the annual inspection of road signs or city street furniture that have historically been maintained using field GIS software.

Using ArcGIS Mobile, you can locate features using the Search Features task or by identifying them on the map using the View Map task. Once you have found the features you are interested in, you can add them to the View Work List task.

By using the View Work List task to manage your features, you can sort and/or filter the list in a variety of ways to best suit your workflows. For example, by default they are sorted based on the distance from you. If you are using a GPS receiver to center the map, the work list will sort all features by their proximity to your location. You can then filter them by their state. If you choose to filter by state and choose Original as the state to display, when you modify a feature, it will be removed from the list.
