Run a predefined query

A map author can include a predefined query to make it easier for users to view particular subsets of a map's data. For example, on a map of earthquakes, the author could include a predefined query that lets a user input a magnitude, then see only earthquakes of that magnitude or greater. These queries can be executed using the ArcGIS for Windows Phone application by taking the following steps:

Steps:

1. Open a map containing a predefined query.
2. Tap the contents icon on the app bar to display the map contents.

   The Map Contents pivot displays on the layers panel.

3. Swipe to the extras panel.
4. Under Queries defined in this map tap Select to display the list of available queries.
5. Tap a query to execute it.
6. If the query has no parameters, it executes. If the query was authored with parameters, you will be prompted for values for the parameters. Enter the information and tap accept on the app bar to execute the query.
7. After the query executes, the results display on the Predefined search results page.
   • Tap show map to view all the results on the map.
   • Tap and hold a result to bring up a context menu and zoom to that result.
   • Tap a result to display details about the result, including the ability to show it on the map.

Tip:

Maps with predefined queries also provide access to the queries through the place name search when the map is open.
