View feature information

In the ArcGIS for Windows Phone application, you can view information about the features in the map.

CautionCaution:

The feature information available to the user is determined by how the map was authored. The experience is the same as that of ArcGIS Online, in that only features that have pop-up windows enabled in the map have their details displayed in the phone application. The information displayed matches the information configured for the pop-up windows in the map. See About pop-up windows in the ArcGIS Online help for more information.

To view feature information about a map using the ArcGIS for Windows Phone app, follow these steps:

Steps:
  1. Open a map that contains pop-up windows on the features.

An map example is the EHS map in the ArcGIS Online Collection Samples gallery. To locate this map, go to the Map Hub while connected to ArcGIS Online, and open the Collection Samples category.

  2. Tap the feature on the map to drop a blue pin and show the feature's location.
Screen shot of identify on a feature.
  3. In the InfoWindow that displays for the location, tap more to see details about that location, including any features found with pop-up windows.
    Screen shot of a feature's pop-up window.

If the location that you tapped has multiple features with pop-up windows, you will see a pivot of those features (as shown in the previous screen shot). You can switch between their pop-up windows by swiping from panel to panel inside the features window.

    NoteNote:

The edit icon Edit icon., as well as delete on the app bar's context menu, are only enabled if the feature is editable.

  4. If the feature you are viewing has attachments, you can tap an attachment listed in the pop-up window to view it.

Screen shot of the viewed attachment.

    NoteNote:

Only some attachment types can be viewed on the phone. They include images, PowerPoint files, Word documents, Excel files, PDFs, ZIP files, and text files.

  5. You can save a viewed image attachment to the phone by expanding the app bar and selecting save to phone.

The picture is saved to your phone. To find it on your device, go to the Pictures app, select albums, and open the Saved Pictures album.
