Updating the plug-ins

The Eclipse integrated development environment (IDE) plug-ins provided by Esri are improved and upgraded from time to time. This topic shows you how to update your existing plug-ins to obtain the latest available updates from Esri when they are made available.

Updating existing plug-ins

Esri periodically releases updates for the ArcGIS API for Android that can include additional capabilities, new or updated documentation, or samples. Since updating your entire Eclipse package can be lengthy and cumbersome, the following shows you how to check for updates for Esri's Eclipse plug-ins only:

1. Click Eclipse's help menu and choose the install new software option.
2. In the installation wizard, click the already installed link.
3. Ensure the installed software tab is selected on the Eclipse installation details dialog box.
4. Choose ArcGIS for Android Core and ArcGIS for Android Doc and Samples from the list and click update.
5. Update the plug-ins accordingly and restart Eclipse when prompted.
