Edit pop-up window content

The pop-up window content for features that are stored in the map can be edited to set the title, description and image, by using the Edit Pop-up link on the Edit menu at the bottom of the pop-up window.

If the feature is in a configurable layer—created by importing data, or that references a feature service—then the content of the pop-up window, and how feature attributes can be edited within that pop-up window, is defined by the configuration of pop-up windows for the layer instead.

How to edit the pop-up window content of a feature stored in the map

1. Locate the feature whose pop-up window content you want to edit, and open the pop-up window by clicking the feature to display its pop-up window.
2. Click the Edit menu at the bottom of the pop-up window, then click the Edit Pop-up link. This will open the Edit Pop-up dialog box.

   

3. In the Edit Pop-up dialog box, you can enter information about the feature.

   

   Alternatively, if the editing toolbar is currently shown, you can click the Show Pop-up button to show the pop-up window, and click the Edit Pop-up button to edit the pop-up window content for the selected feature.

   • Type the title for the pop-up window in the Title box. The title will also be the name of the feature as displayed in the map contents panel.

     

   • If you want to specify some descriptive text, type the text in the Description box. You can use the buttons in the toolbar above the box to format the appearance of the text and to include links to other web pages in the description.

     

   • If you want to display an image in the pop-up window, specify the URL to the image you want to display in the Image URL box. You can use either .PNG or .JPG images. HTTPS URLs are not supported in Explorer Online.
   • If you want to associate a link to another web page with the image, specify the URL for the link in the Related Link box

     

4. Click OK to close the Edit Pop-up dialog box and display the content in the feature’s pop-up window.
