To view details of layers that are based on services
To view the details of the service associated with a layer, open the Layers panel. Click the Layers tab in the left side panel, click the arrow on the right of the item to show the Layer Details view, then click the Service Details button. The details of the service will open in a new page or window of your web browser.
The available information varies depending on the type of service. For example, for an ArcGIS map, feature or image service, the Services Directory is a view of the ArcGIS Server REST API in HTML format. Each ArcGIS Server instance has a Services Directory installed during its installation process. If you click a service listed in the directory, you will see information such as a description of the service, a list of the available layers, a description, copyright information, the spatial reference, and so on. Below, you can see some of the map service description page for an ArcGIS tiled map service.
