Manage feature templates
Each editable layer has a layer template, which is a collection of feature templates that you can use to create features in that layer. You can create new feature templates and add them to the layer template for an editable layer that has features stored in the map. You can also delete and rename existing templates in the layer template. Layer templates for editable layers based on a service cannot be changed.
Managing the feature templates for a layer is done within the Add Features panel. You can also add any of the system feature templates back in to the template gallery using this panel.
How to manage feature templates
- Click the Add Features tab in the left side panel to show the Add Features panel.
- Click the Organize button at the bottom of the panel to view the panel in organize mode. You can then rename, delete, or add templates as described below.
When you are finished making changes, click the Done button to switch back to the normal Add Features mode.
Rename a feature template
Change the name of a feature template by clicking the box and editing the text as required.
Delete a feature template
Click the Remove button to the left of a feature template to remove it from the layer template.
Add a default feature template
To add one of the standard system feature templates to a layer template, click the + button next to the layer name to which you want to add a template, select the template in the Add Template dialog box, then click OK.
Note that if a layer is based on a service (therefore the layer template cannot be changed) this is indicated by the text [Read-Only]. If a layer is not shown in the panel at all, the layer is not editable.
