Receiving notifications

Notifications provide status messages about your group membership requests. You receive messages when you request to join a group, when your request has been accepted or denied, when you've been invited to join a group, or when other users request to join a group you own.

When you are signed in, a notification icon is shown to the right of your user name in the status area of ArcGIS Explorer Online, indicating the number of notifications you have.

To view your notifications, click the arrow next to your user name, then click Notifications. This will open the Notifications dialog box.

Here is a summary of notifications you may see in the Notifications dialog box:

When you...	You'll see this icon and a message similar to this followed by actions you can take
Receive an invitation to join a group
Receive an acceptance to join a group
Are denied acceptance to a group
Receive a request from someone to join your group
Send a request to join a group
Accept an invitation to join a group
Decline an invitation to join a group

To the right of each notification, you'll see a link that lets you Accept or Decline an invitation or Delete the notification. Deleting a notification simply removes it from your list of notifications; it does not cause any other action to occur.
