Searching for routes
Most Event editing workflows are associated with a route and this tool will serve to explore the LRS Network. You can search for a route, zoom in to its spatial location, and explore the attribute information.
- Open a web browser and navigate to Roadway Characteristics Editor.
- Click Search > Search for Routes.
The Search dialog box appears.
Depending on the number of fields defining the route ID, you will see one or more text boxes with the appropriate field names as labels. For more information how to define the route ID, see Data in the ALRS.
- Select the Network (LRM) within which the route search will be performed. Only the routes associated with the selected network will be searched for.
- Enter the route ID of the route that you would like to explore.
The route ID input does not have to be an exact match. If there is more that one field that defines the route ID, then the tool requires at least one input to start the search.
- Click Search or press the ENTER key.
The results of the search operation are populated in the results panel below along with information about the total number of result pages available. The results panel contains buttons near the bottom to help the user navigate the results.
- Click on the First Page button and Last Page button to go to the first page of the results or the last page of results.
- Click on the Next Page button and Previous Page button to go to the next page of the results or the previous page of results. Alternatively, you can use the drop down arrow and choose the page number to directly access a page.
- Click on individual rows within the results panel and the map refreshes to zoom to the extent of the selected route.A call-out dialog box displays all the attributes of the selected route.
