An overview of the Defense Topology toolset

Tools in the Defense Topology toolset allow you to export and import geodatabase topologies using XML as an exchange format.

Tool	Description
Export Topology	Exports a topology from an Esri Defense Mapping solution geodatabase to a .xml file. The .xml file can be used by the Import Topology tool to create a topology in a feature dataset. Both this tool and the Import Topology tool allow you to share and create topologies within different Defense Mapping data models. The .xml file contains a definition of a topology, including feature class names and topology ranks and weights.
Import Topology	Creates a geodatabase topology from a definition .xml file. Use the Esri Defense Mapping solution's Export Topology tool to create the .xml file.
