Deleting profile views

Selecting an existing profile view element using the Select Elements tool allows you to delete it by using several different methods:

• Clicking the Delete button on the Standard toolbar
• Right-clicking the profile view and clicking Delete
• Pressing the DELETE key on the keyboard

Note:

Once a profile view has been deleted from a chart, if you undo the deletion, the Detect Layout Changes tool will not detect the profile view for that chart. To reregister the profile view once it has been deleted, you need to create a new profile view for the chart.

Steps:

1. Start ArcMap.
2. On the main menu, click View > Layout View.
3. Click the Select Elements tool on the Tools toolbar.
4. Click the profile view to select it.
5. Delete the profile view by doing one of the following:
   • Clicking the Delete button on the Standard toolbar
   • Right-clicking the profile view and clicking Delete
   • Pressing the DELETE key on the keyboard

The selected profile view graphic is deleted.
