Using the Layout window to group elements

You can group and ungroup page layout elements from the Layout window. A grouped element is composed of several other elements. Grouped elements can be grouped into larger elements. You can also ungroup elements.

Steps:

1. If necessary, click the Layout window button on the Production Cartography toolbar to display the Layout window.
2. Select two or more elements from the Layout window.

   The selected elements are highlighted in a dashed line with handles in the page layout.

3. Right-click in the Layout window, then click Group.

   The selected elements are combined into a single element in the page layout. In the Layout window, the selected elements are moved into a new Group node.

   Note:

   To ungroup an element, right-click it in the Layout window and click Ungroup.
