Description

The size of the output shapefile exceeds the 2 GB file size limit. See Data formats supported by Spatial Analyst and Geoprocessing considerations for shapefile output for more information on this limit. Note that even if the output feature was defined to be a format other than a shapefile, generally a shapefile will still be created as an intermediate dataset, so the operation is subject to the limit.

Solution

Process the data in sections, or possibly use a coarser resolution, so that the intermediate shapefile does not exceed this limit. Note that certain tools (for example, Contour With Barriers) can natively support file geodatabases for output and thus are not subject to this limit. If supported, you can use this format to avoid the problem.
