Description

An unexpected error occurred trying to retrieve feature class properties such as the number of records, extent, or spatial reference.

Solution

Make sure that the feature class is not locked by another application or by a hung process. Examine the input feature class to make sure that it is not corrupt. For some types of features and problems, the Repair Geometry tool may fix corrupted feature geometries.
