000058 : Cannot delete fields from a joined table.

Description

If a layer has a table joined to it, adding and removing fields is not allowed.

Solution

Run the RemoveJoin tool on the layer. If in ArcMap, right-click the layer, point to Joins and Relates, then choose the Remove Joins option.
