20008: Layer uses a text symbol which draws with faux bold or italic styles
Your layer contains a text symbol with a faux bold or italic style applied to it. The display of this symbol in a basemap layer or optimized map service will differ from your standard ArcMap display.
Solutions
- Do nothing. Simply accept the drawing without the simulated bold or italic.
- Alternatively, you can change the text symbol to remove the faux bold or italic style.
- You can also find proper bold and italic styles of the font you are using.
More information
This warning message is telling you that the font your text symbol references does not have bold or italic styles. The ArcMap drawing pipeline, which is based on Windows GDI, will emulate these styles for you. The display pipeline of basemap layers and optimized map services will not emulate these styles in this manner.
