Adding a graticule
The following are the steps you can take to add a graticule to your map layout using Grids and Graticules Wizard. For more information on Grids and Graticules Wizard, see A quick tour of the Grids and Graticules Wizard.
Steps:
- Click View > Data Frame Properties.
- Click the Grids tab.
- Click the New Grid button.
- Click the Graticule option in Grids and Graticules Wizard.
- Type a name for the resulting grid.
- Follow the steps in the wizard and click Next as you complete each panel.
- Click Finish.
This name will appear in the list of grids on the Data Frame Properties dialog box.
Tip:
ArcMap may be configured not to show wizards. If this is the case, you can enable Grids and Graticules Wizard. Click Customize > ArcMap Options, click the General tab, then check the Wizard Mode option.
Tip:
You can specify the graticule intervals in decimal degrees or degrees and decimal minutes instead of degrees/minutes/seconds (the default). Intervals are specified in degrees/minutes/seconds with the wizard, but you can change to the other options by opening the graticule's properties once you have finished the wizard.
