Setting ArcGlobe to open with the default layers that come with ArcGlobe
If you have used ArcGIS and, specifically, ArcGlobe before version 10, you might have set your default layers to use the coarse layers that come with ArcGlobe. If that is the case, the option is honored at 10 until you pick a new default layer choice. Then the selection will be no longer available on the interface. To reuse the default, coarse layers that ship with ArcGlobe, you can add them to the table of contents and set ArcGlobe to open with default layers you provide.
Steps:
- Click Customize and click ArcGlobe Options.
- Click the Default Layers tab.
- Check Use the default layers that come with ArcGlobe.
- Click OK.
This data is installed locally with ArcGIS and includes a world image layer and a continents layer.
Tip:
- Open a new ArcGlobe document to see your updated default layers.
- Load the ArcGlobe document from the \ArcGlobeData folder in your ArcGIS installation directory if you need to bring back the default coarse layers that ship with ArcGlobe.
