Deleting caches when exiting ArcGlobe

You can configure ArcGlobe to delete a layer's disk caches when exiting the application. This will ensure subsequent sessions will pull new display tiles (for data or services that change frequently), and help minimize the disk space being used on your machine.

Steps:
  1. In the table of contents, right-click the layer whose cache properties you want to change and click Properties.
  2. Click the Cache tab.
  3. Under Cache removal options, check the Exiting the application or removing the layer option.
  4. Selecting to remove a layer's disk cache when exiting ArcGlobe on the Layer Properties dialog box.
  5. Click OK to apply the setting and close the Layer Properties dialog box.
  6. When the layer is removed from the table of contents or you exit ArcGlobe, the layer's cache will be cleared.
TipTip:
  • This option is useful for data that changes regularly. ArcIMS data is one likely source.
  • A shortcut to the Layer Properties dialog box is to simply double-click the layer in the table of contents.
