About 3D raster layer transparency

You can adjust the transparency of raster layers in ArcScene for a variety of effects. For example, you can apply layer transparency to do the following:

You can also set individual cells to be transparent. This is particularly useful for rasters that contain cells with no measurement values. For example, perhaps there were regions where data collection didn't occur, or the raster is an aerial image with triangular or linear border areas that were outside the area for which image values were recorded. These cells are usually represented as NoData values or background values and can be rendered with a solid color. Displaying the NoData values and background values as transparent usually provides a better representation of the data and also reduces obscuring of underlying data.
