Adding a multiband raster dataset
When you add a raster layer with multiple bands, you can choose to add a single band or you can add the entire raster dataset.
Steps:
-
Click the Add Data button
on the Standard toolbar.
- Click the Look in drop-down arrow and navigate to the folder that contains the raster dataset.
- Click the multiband raster dataset.
-
Click Add.
ArcMap creates a new raster layer on the map that references the raster data source. You can change the default RGB band combination that a multiband raster layer displays when it is loaded. Click the Customize menu, point to ArcMap Options, then click the Raster tab.

You can also drag and drop a raster from ArcCatalog, the Catalog window, or from the Explorer window to ArcMap, ArcScene, or ArcGlobe.
