Setting the feathering parameters in the image service definition properties

LegacyLegacy:

ArcGIS 10 is the last release of the stand-alone ArcGIS Image Server product. The image service definition (.ISDef) has been replaced by an improved geodatabase data model—the mosaic dataset—which can be published as an image service using the ArcGIS Server Image extension.

A feathering value can be entered when generating seamlines from both the Footprint and Seamline layers or by initially defining it in the Image Service Properties.

Steps:
  1. Click the Image Service Properties button Image Service Properties.
  2. Click the Service Defaults node.
  3. Scroll down to the Seamline Parameters section.
  4. Type a number for the Feather Width.
  5. Click the Feather Width Unit drop-down arrow and click a unit.
  6. Click the Seamline Type drop-down arrow and click a type.
