Analyzing an image service definition

LegacyLegacy:

ArcGIS 10 is the last release of the stand-alone ArcGIS Image Server product. The image service definition (.ISDef) has been replaced by an improved geodatabase data model—the mosaic dataset—which can be published as an image service using the ArcGIS Server Image extension.

The Analyze Image Service Wizard has two options: one to check that the correct processes are defined in the raster process definition (.RPDef) files and one to check for raster sources to ensure that they are valid raster datasets. It is important to check these when you are using an image service definition whose state you are unsure of or when you have moved the image service definition or the data it is referencing.

Steps:
  1. Click the Image Service drop-down menu on the Image Service Definition Editor toolbar and click Analyze Image Service.

The Analyze Image Service Wizard is displayed.

  2. Click Next.
  3. Optionally, uncheck Validate raster sources.

This checks the existence of raster sources to ensure they are valid raster datasets.

  4. Optionally, uncheck Validate raster process definition files.

This checks that the correct processes are defined in the raster process (.RPDef) files.

  5. Click Finish.

The status appears in the Service Editor Reporter window.
