Enabling interoperability connections

Interoperability connections are how you add custom formats to ArcGIS using the Data Interoperability extension. You must install and enable the Data Interoperability extension to view and work with interoperability connections in ArcCatalog. There are two simple steps.

Steps:
  1. Install the Data Interoperability extension for ArcGIS Desktop on your computer.
  2. Turn the Data Interoperability extension on in ArcGIS. See Enabling extensions in ArcGIS for instructions.

Once you have turned Data Interoperability on, the node for working with interoperability connections appears in the Catalog tree.
