System requirements to install ArcSDE for PostgreSQL

ArcSDE has certain minimum computer system requirements. Your computer system must meet these minimum requirements to successfully install and use ArcSDE for PostgreSQL.

Which operating system (OS) is supported depends on the release of PostgreSQL and ArcSDE being used. For specifics and the latest information on supported operating system and database release for ArcSDE for PostgreSQL, see http://resources.arcgis.com/ and navigate to the ArcGIS Server System Requirements.

Your computer is required to meet the minimum system requirements to install ArcSDE for PostgreSQL.

Disk space

Installing ArcSDE requires approximately 200 MB. Installing PostgreSQL requires approximately 100 MB.

PostgreSQL requirements

Separate from ArcSDE requirements, PostgreSQL has certain minimum computer system requirements. Your computer system is required to meet these minimum requirements to successfully install and use PostgreSQL. For the latest in PostgreSQL database requirements, see the PostgreSQL documentation.

Note:

For any given operating system, if PostgreSQL is not supported on that version of the operating system, ArcSDE is not supported either.
