Uninstalling ArcSDE from Windows
As with other applications, you can use the Microsoft Windows Add or Remove programs (Windows Server 2003) or the Programs and Features (Windows Server 2008) menu to uninstall ArcSDE.
Before uninstalling ArcSDE, make a copy of any custom files (such as a custom dbtune.sde file) you want to keep for future use.
You must be a Windows administrator to uninstall software.
- Stop the ArcSDE service, if one is running, using the Windows Services dialog box.
- From the Start button, open the Control Panel.
- Double-click Add or Remove Programs (Windows Server 2003) or Programs and Features (Windows Server 2008).
On Windows Server 2003, select ArcGIS ArcSDE for <DBMS> from the program list and click the Remove button. On Windows Server 2008, select ArcGIS ArcSDE for <DBMS> from the program list and click Uninstall\Change.
You will be prompted to delete the ArcSDE service (if one exists) at this time. Click Yes to remove the service.
