Merging connected edges within a feature

If you have split a topology edge to create a temporary node for editing or snapping, use Merge Connected Edges to remove the inserted node. This command will only work on edges that you have split yourself by using the Split Edge At Distance or Split Edge At Anchor commands. You cannot use it to merge edges at a node that ArcMap created automatically.

Steps:
  1. Click the Topology Edit tool Topology Edit Tool on the Topology toolbar.
  2. Click the edges that you have previously split.
  3. Right-click and click Merge Connected Edges. The selected edge is merged with the adjacent edge, and the topology node is removed. If the edges cannot be merged, such as because the node belongs to different features or ArcMap requires it to maintain topological coincidence, a message appears indicating this.
