Using the Add CAD Fields tool

Many of the reserved CAD fields viewable in a CAD feature class attribute table can also be used for populating values back to a CAD file. When using the Export To CAD tool, use the Add_CAD_Fields tool to add several reserved CAD fields to a feature class at one time. You can add fields in categories: Entity, Layer, Text, and Document. After running the tool, the appropriate values can be entered individually or populated with the Field Calculator.

Steps:

1. Open the Add CAD Fields tool.
2. Drag a feature class from the table of contents or a Catalog window into the Input Table text box.
   • Or use the browse button , navigate to the source data, and click Add.
3. Uncheck any categories of CAD fields you do not want to add to the table.
4. Click OK to run the tool.
