Using the Shift tool

When georeferencing a CAD dataset, the Shift tool is a quick way to drag the dataset to the approximate destination area.

Steps:

1. Right-click the main menu and click Georeferencing on the shortcut menu to add the toolbar.
2. Click the Layer drop-down arrow, then click a CAD feature layer.
3. Click the Shift button .
4. Click and hold the mouse button down in the map. Drag the pointer to move the CAD dataset.

   The CAD dataset appears as a bounding box until you release the mouse button.

5. Release the mouse button to complete the task and update the display.
