Identifying current shares and permissions

If you have a previous installation of the Data Appliance for ArcGIS, you need to record the current data collection share names and their folder permissions before removing the old collections and installing the new ones. The following instructions are for a data collection update on Windows.

Steps:
  1. Log in to the Data Appliance for ArcGIS using the administrator account.
  2. Click the Start menu, expand the Administrative Tools menu, and select Computer Management.
  3. In the Computer Management application, click Shared Folders to expand the tree, and click the Shares folder.
  4. The current shares display. Note all the share names that reference a data appliance collection or a collection's \cache or \source_documents folders.
