Using a routing service

After you have added the Data Appliance routing services to your ArcGIS Server, you are ready to use them. For more information, see Network analysis services under Professional Library » ArcGIS Server » Publishing services » Types of services in Desktop 10 Help for ArcGIS.

ArcGIS for Desktop

You can use network analysis services to provide specialized or locally hosted routing in your desktop applications.

You can change the find directions functionality of ArcGIS Explorer to use the routing services from the Data Appliance.
