Choosing the method used to edit areas of interest
The Edit Extension property on the Areas Of Interest pane allows you to specify what editing behavior is going to be implemented when you are editing an area of interest by indicating which editing rules are going to be applied. You can configure the property on the New Class or the Class Properties dialog box.

- Start ArcMap.Tipp:
If the ArcMap - Getting Started dialog box appears, you can open a new or existing map document. You can also check the Do not show this dialog box in the future check box and click Open.
- If you do not have the New Class dialog box open, right-click an existing product class from the product library tree view and choose Properties to open the Class Properties dialog box.
- Click Areas Of Interest in the list on the left side of the New Class or the Class Properties dialog box.

Click the Edit Extension drop-down arrow and choose the option appropriate for the solution you have installed.
- If your solution does not have any custom implementation methods, this drop-down list only contains <No Custom Object>.
Tipp:You can proceed to choosing the publisher to use with the map documents (optional) before closing the dialog box.
- Click OK to close the New Class or the Class Properties dialog box.
