Creating a new data model version
Versions can be added to models as your organization supports changes to a model. When feature datasets are included in the schema file, the feature classes within the dataset are included as part of the data model version.
- Start ArcMap.Tipp:
If the ArcMap - Getting Started dialog box appears, you can open a new or existing map document. You can also check the Do not show this dialog box in the future check box and click Open.
-
If necessary, open the Product Library window by clicking Customize > Production > Product Library on the main menu.
A tree view of the product library appears.
-
Right-click the Product Library icon and click Properties.
The Product Library Properties dialog box appears.
Hinweis:By default, the Nautical Solution automatically sets a pre-configured file geodatabase product library in the Product Library Workspace property. However, if you need to create your own product library or have an existing product library workspace then continue with the steps.
- Click the cell next to Set Tool Options.
-
Click the drop-down arrow that appears and click the ellipsis (...) next to Data Models.
The Data Models dialog box appears.
-
Click New.
The New Data Model Version dialog box appears.
-
Click the Data Model drop-down arrow and choose the data model for which you want to create a new version.
If you are using the Nautical Solution, skip this step.
-
Click New next to the Data Model drop-down list to add a new model and create a version for it.
The New Data Model dialog box appears.
-
Fill out the fields to reflect either ENC, AML, or Charting.
-
Click OK.
The Data Model portion of the New Data Model dialog box is populated with the name of the model you created.
-
Click the ellipsis (...) next to the Choose Data Model Workspace text box.
The Browse to the workspace document dialog box appears.
-
Navigate to the XML file that corresponds with the data model you chose in the Data Model drop-down list.
If you are using the Nautical Solution, browse to one of the following locations:
- For 32-bit machines—<Installation location>\Program Files\ESRI Nautical\<product folder (for example, ENC, AML or Charting)>\Schema\Workspace
- For 64-bit machines—<Installation location>\Program Files (x86)\ESRI Nautical\<product folder (for example, ENC, AML or Charting)>\Schema\Workspace
Choose the NAUTICAL_TEMPLATE_GX_10.0.0.0.XML for ENC or NAUTICAL_CHART_TEMPLATE_GX_10.0.0.0.XML for Charting. AML has six XML files:
- NAUTICAL_CLB_TEMPLATE_GX_10.0.0.0.XML
- NAUTICAL_ESB_TEMPLATE_GX_10.0.0.0.XML
- NAUTICAL_LBO_TEMPLATE_GX_10.0.0.0.XML
- NAUTICAL_MFF_TEMPLATE_GX_10.0.0.0.XML
- NAUTICAL_RAL_TEMPLATE_GX_10.0.0.0.XML
- NAUTICAL_SBO_TEMPLATE_GX_10.0.0.0.XML
The version information at the end of the file name represents the release the model was associated with. It is recommended that you always use the latest version. The first two values, 10, represent the major release value. The second value represents the minor release value. The third value represents the service pack value, and the fourth value represents a patch. For example, 93.0.1.0 represents 9.3 Service Pack 1.
-
Click Select.
The New Data Model Version dialog box appears. The path to the XML file you chose appears in the Choose Data Model Workspace field.
If you are using the Nautical Solution, skip steps 14–17

Click OK.
Hinweis:
It should take approximately 15 minutes to load the ENC data model, closer to 30 minutes for the Chart data model, and 10 minutes for the AML data model.
The Data Models dialog box appears. The new version you have created appears in the Data Model Version drop-down list.
