Copying and pasting multiple features

The Batch Copy Paste tool allows you to copy and paste an entire selection set of features from different feature classes into their respective feature templates in one click.

This enhances the original copy and paste functionality by allowing you to paste into multiple templates instead of just one at a time. You can use the Batch Copy Paste tool within the same geodatabase or between multiple geodatabases:

HinweisHinweis:

When using the Batch Copy Paste tool, the source layers of your selected features must match the destination edit workspace's target layers schema for the paste operation to take place.

Schritte:
  1. Start ArcMap.
    TippTipp:

If the ArcMap - Getting Started dialog box appears, you can open a new or existing map document. You can also check the Do not show this dialog box in the future check box and click Open.

  2. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Production Editing.
  3. Click the Production Start Editing button Production Start Editing on the Production Editing toolbar.
    HinweisHinweis:

The Manage Features and Create Attributes, Update Attributes, or Metadata Attributes windows automatically appear when you start an edit session using the Production Start Editing tool.

    TippTipp:

If the Create Attributes, Update Attributes, or Metadata Attributes window does not appear when you start an edit session, click the Link Feature Manager To Attributes Window button Show/Hide Attributes on the Manage Features window.

  4. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Nautical.
  5. Select the features in the map to be copied and pasted.

Features must be selected for the tool to run.

    HinweisHinweis:

Selected features are always pasted into your current edit workspace.

  6. Click the Batch Copy Paste button Batch Copy/Paste on the Nautical toolbar.

    A process dialog box appears.

The copied features are pasted in the same spatial location as the selected features and are now your currently selected set of features.

HinweisHinweis:

The location of the log files generated by the tool is different depending on your operating system:

  • On Windows XP, log files are written to <Installation location>\Documents and Settings\<User Login>\Application Data\ESRI\Production10.0\Nautical\LogFiles\Batch Copy Paste.
  • On Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008, log files are written to <Installation location>\Users\<UserLogin>\AppData\Roaming\ESRI\Production10.0\NAUTICAL\LogFiles\Batch Copy Paste.
If the location doesn't exist, the tool creates the space for it. The log file is saved in XML format.
