Modifying composite template properties

Composite templates allow you to combine multiple feature templates and create features in all the template layers with one edit sketch. Composite templates define all the information required to create new features. Once composite templates are created, the information stored in the template can be modified on the Composite Template Properties dialog box. You can modify all the information necessary for the composite template: name, symbol, templates, and default construction tool.

Schritte:
  1. Start ArcMap.
    TippTipp:

If the ArcMap - Getting Started dialog box appears, you can open a new or existing map document. You can also check the Do not show this dialog box in the future check box and click Open.

  2. If necessary, load data in the map.
  3. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Production Editing.
  4. Click the Production Start Editing button Production Start Editing on the Production Editing toolbar.
    HinweisHinweis:

The Manage Features and Create Attributes, Update Attributes, or Metadata Attributes windows automatically appear when you start an edit session using the Production Start Editing tool.

    TippTipp:

If the Create Attributes, Update Attributes, or Metadata Attributes window does not appear when you start an edit session, click the Link Feature Manager To Attributes Window button Show/Hide Attributes on the Manage Features window.

  5. Click the Create tab on the Manage Features window.
  6. Double-click a composite template on the Create tab on the Manage Features window.
    TippTipp:

  8. Click the button next to Display Symbol.

The Symbol Selector dialog box appears.

  9. Choose a symbol to represent the composite template.

The symbol you choose is displayed on the Create tab for the composite template. You can choose any point symbol. See Finding symbols for more information on using the Symbol Selector dialog box.

  11. Click the Default Tool drop-down arrow and choose the construction tool that is going to be used to create the composite template.

The default tool is the construction tool that is automatically activated when you choose a composite template on the Manage Features window.

    HinweisHinweis:

The list of construction tools contains all the tools that can be used with composite templates. Be sure to choose a default tool that works with the geometry types in the template. See Composite template construction tools for more information about which construction tools to use for the geometry types.

  12. Verify that the correct templates are included in the composite template.
    TippTipp:

If you need to remove a template, click the template name in the list, then click Remove.

    TippTipp:

To add a template, click Add to the right of the template list. On the Add Templates dialog box, check the check boxes next to the templates you want to include in the composite template, then click OK.
