Applying data frame rules
The Apply Data Frame Rules dialog box allows you to save and import preconfigured data frame rules. You can apply preconfigured data frame rules, such as rotation, scale, extent, coordinate system, and size, to a single data frame or to multiple data frames. To apply data frame rules to a data frame, you must load a <data frame rules>.xml file.
- Start ArcMap.Tipp:
If the ArcMap - Getting Started dialog box appears, you can open a new or existing map document. You can also check the Do not show this dialog box in the future check box and click Open.
- Switch to layout view.
- On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Production Cartography.
The Production Cartography toolbar appears.
- Click the Layout window
button on the Production Cartography toolbar.
The Layout window appears.
- In the Layout window, click the data frame you want to apply the rules to.
- Click the Apply Data Frame Rules
button on the Layout window toolbar.
The Apply Data Frame Rules dialog box appears.
- If necessary, click the Source Data Frame: drop-down arrow and choose the source data frame.
- Click Open.
The Import Rules dialog box appears.
- Navigate to the <data frame rules>.xml you want to use.
- Click Open.
The Apply Data Frame Rules dialog box appears.
- If necessary, check or uncheck the Show Status Window check box.Hinweis:
If the Show Status Window check box is checked, the Status - Data Frame Rules dialog box displays the status of the rules being applied to the data frame.
- Click Apply.
- Click Cancel to close the Apply Data Frame Rules dialog box.
Choosing a source data frame is only necessary if the Same as source data frame option is saved within the XML file.
