Merging DEMs

For the purposes of contour creation, temporary rasters can be generated using the original digital elevation model (DEM) files. When the DEMs are merged, they are combined into a single new DEM that can be used for contour generation without modifying your original DEMs.

Schritte:
  1. Start ArcMap.
    TippTipp:

    If the ArcMap - Getting Started dialog box appears, you can open a new or existing map document. You can also check the Do not show this dialog box in the future check box and click Open.

  2. Load the DEM files you want to use to create contours.
  3. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Production Contouring.
  4. Click the Merge and Filter DEMs button Merge and Filter DEMs on the Production Contouring toolbar.

    The Merge and Filter DEMs dialog box appears.

  5. Click Merge Only in the Operation area.
    TippTipp:

    You can filter the merged layer at the same by choosing the Merge and Filter Result option.

  6. Click the Open button Open next to the Merging/Filtering Output Raster Workspace field.

    The Choose DEMs Folder dialog box appears.

  7. Navigate to a current DEM folder.

    The folder you choose must be a preexisting raster workspace.

  8. Click Open.

    The Merge and Filter DEMs dialog box appears.

  9. Type a name for the merged file in the Merged Output Name text box.
  10. Click OK.
